More about the artists:

La Belle Parade

La Belle Parade is an all-female jazz band that plays lively jazz music from 1920s New Orleans, elegantly dressed in sparkling flapper dresses and with musical elements reminiscent of classic Old Hollywood films. With two of the band members being among the world's best Charleston dancers, they often surprise the audience with energetic dance numbers during a concert.

La Belle Parade has the ability to transform any venue into an engaging time travel experience back to the jazz era and the joyful 20s, all with humor and warmth. The band performs for an always captivated audience, ranging from cozy garden parties and archipelago taverns to dance nights, jazz festivals, and large corporate events on stages like Nalen, Münchenbryggeriet, and Blå Hallen.

Lineup:
Rebecka DecaVita - washboard and vocals
Agnes Persson - banjo and vocals
Mimmi Anterot - trumpet and vocals
Charlie DecaVita - tuba
Josefin Staaf - clarinet and vocals

Ingrid Malmén

Ingrid Malmen is a Stockholm-based vocalist and composer who, despite her young age, brings a confident and unique expression to the Swedish jazz scene. Her poetic Swedish lyrics combined with fearless and genre-breaking compositions create a distinctive sound, as manifested in the music from her third album.

Malmen approaches music with presence and a powerful voice, often arranging her music for brass and string instruments, creating an even broader sonic landscape. In 2022, Malmen was selected as one of the participants in Stockholm Jazz Festival's Showcase for new talents in jazz.

Malmen is joined by skilled musicians Alice Hernqvist (piano), Pär-Ola Landin (bass), Jon Fält (drums), Thomas Backman (saxophone and clarinet), and Lina Nyberg as the producer for her upcoming third album. Malmen has previously released the albums "Efterskalv" (2018) and "Hjärtslag" (2020), both of which received positive feedback from both the press and the audience. She has performed with jazz musicians like Jonas Kullhammar, Lisa Grotherus, Isak Hedtjärn, Eva Lindal, Carl Bagge, among others.

Thomas Backman - alto saxophone and clarinet
Alice Hernqvist - piano
Pär-Ola Landin - double bass

Simon Zion

This Saturday evening, singer and guitarist Simon Zion takes the live stage at Kung Carls Jazzklubb to perform his original music with his quartet, influenced by grunge, jazz/fusion, and the 70s.

Simon Zion is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer from southern Finland who grew up in Umeå, Sweden. He took Sweden by storm in 2015 when he secured third place in the TV show "Idol" on TV4. He then stepped out of the commercial sphere to create his own sound. Simon has a unique and organic relationship with music, delivering high-quality live performances, both solo with guitar and loop pedal, as well as in trio, with a full band, and even with jazz big bands. He is currently promoting his new single "#222," the first single from his upcoming album in 2023.

Simon describes himself as music nerd number one, with vocals and guitar as integrated primary instruments. He transcends genres and places a strong emphasis on improvisation. His music has taken him around the world, from Melbourne, Australia to Los Angeles. He collaborates with artists in various genres, from jazz to pop/rock, touring with musicians like Cornelia Jacobs and Carola Häggkvist.
