A lot of work went into imitating the Parisian role model, Café Riche on Boulevard des Italiens, in terms of both décor and character. Starched linen tablecloths, elegant gold-framed mirrors on the walls and crystal chandeliers in the ceilings created an environment in which Stockholm residents from the solid bourgeoisie, officers and gentlemen could feel at home.
