Restaurants, cafes, and bars

Hawaii Poké

Sometimes you want to eat something quickly when you're on the go, but you still want it to be fresh and flavorful. At Hawaii Poké, there are many different Poké Bowls to choose from for takeout. Plus points for good vegetarian and vegan options.

Restaurant Grodan

Restaurant Grodan, or La Grenouille as it was originally called, opened in September 1985. Grodan is a classic among Stockholm restaurants with an ambience that cannot be designed or presented in PowerPoint format.

Pinchos

Pinchos serves small dishes from around the world. A delightful mix of burgers, dumplings, paella, lovely desserts, and colorful drinks. There is something for everyone’s taste! The restaurant is decorated in a playful circus theme.

Prinsen

Since 1897, artists, cultural workers, businesspeople, and media personalities have gathered at Prinsen, and there are few Stockholm restaurants where history meets the present as clearly as here. Prinsen's philosophy of food and drink rests on honest ingredients and Swedish culinary tradition. Homemade meatballs and toast Skagen are staple items on the menu.

Riche

Its Parisian counterpart, Café Riche on Boulevard des Italiens, was long sought to be replicated in both decor and character. Stiff linen tablecloths, elegantly gold-framed mirrors on the walls, and crystal chandeliers in the ceiling created an environment that made Stockholm's solid bourgeoisie, officers, and gentlemen's clubs feel at home.

Joe & the Juice

Enjoy freshly squeezed juices and smoothies that are pressed and blended on-site. A pure health boost! In addition to drinks, you can also buy simpler sandwiches and other healthy options.

Eataly

The idea behind Eataly is simple: a place with all Italian delicacies under one roof where you can eat, shop, and learn. In their beautiful premises on Biblioteksgatan, you will find three floors with all the best from Italy. Here you can enjoy well-prepared pasta and pizza or purchase the perfect gift!

Sturehof

With its proud, centuries-long history and its location in the heart of the southern side of Stureplan in Stockholm, Sturehof is a vibrant meeting place – a scene that lives intensely from early morning to late at night, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

See & do

Culture & Attractions

In our beautiful capital, there are many interesting places to visit. Museums, archipelago, music and theater scenes, breathtaking viewpoints, parks, and castles. On the Visit Stockholm website, you can read about them all and how to plan Stockholm in a day!

When you need to relax

Djurgården

Djurgården is much more than Skansen and Gröna Lund. Start from Nybrokajen and walk along Strandvägen all the way out to Blockhusudden where you can look out towards Nacka on the other side of the water. Stop by Rosendal Garden and have a coffee or a bite to eat. Last time, I got inspired and even picked a beautiful bouquet from their self-picking.

Humlegården

In the greenery of Humlegården, you can take a pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Here you can see suited businessmen eating packed lunches on the grass when it is sunny and warm, but also quite a few families with children and dog owners. If you are traveling with children, this is a perfect place for the little ones to run around. There are both sandboxes, swings, and climbing frames.

Sturebadet SPA

With both stillness and movement, Sturebadet aims to help you regain new energy to create a pleasant balance in life. A spa day provides you with an experience for both body and soul. Enjoy beautiful relaxation and inspiring training in a historic and beautiful environment.

For children

Gröna Lund

Are you yearning for the thrill and excitement at the amusement park Gröna Lund?

Vasa Museum

If history feels exciting, visit our fantastic Vasa Museum! Explore the beautiful ship that King Gustav II Adolf had built and was so magnificent that it almost bankrupted Sweden. It sank on its maiden voyage, only fifteen minutes after leaving the harbor.

Playgrounds

There are many lovely playgrounds in Stockholm. For many years, we spent most of our afternoons and weekends in Humlegården just around the corner. Climbing frames, bicycles, swings – there are plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy. Spread out a blanket in the park and have a cozy picnic!

In Vasaparken (Vasastan), there's also a small truck where my kids used to stand in the back and sing “I have graduated”. There are also small trampolines where the little ones can jump.

Butterfly House

Another activity that my children have always enjoyed is a visit to the Butterfly House in Haga Park. In a large tropical greenhouse, you walk among beautiful butterflies that fly freely. But perhaps the most exciting is the shark aquarium! Here, colorful fish swim alongside guitar rays and dant-dant-dant-dant-dant-dant-dant-dant reef sharks!

OceanBus

Having trouble getting the kids on a sightseeing tour? Try OceanBus which guides you both on land and at sea. Get on the bus at Strömgatan near the Opera and during the journey, you will see among other things Dramaten, the Royal Palace, Djurgården, Gamla Stan, etc. A bus that suddenly drives into the water, you just have to love that!

Skansen

Skansen on Djurgården is always cozy. It feels a bit like Sweden collected. For me, the favorite has always been the school and the old farms. My son always thinks the animals are the most interesting.

Ghost Walk

For the brave, you can book a Ghost Walk in Gamla Stan. In the eerie alleys, you will meet the executioner Jürgen Homuth, the royal murderer Jacob Johan Anckarström, the plague doctor, and the White Lady.

Gift Card

Give the gift of something to look forward to with a gift card for Hotel Kung Carl – an appreciated gift for both big and small occasions. The recipient chooses between a delightful hotel stay or a nice dinner in the heart of Stockholm.

A classic four-star hotel by Stureplan where historical elegance meets personal service since 1867.
