Sweden has joined NATO – but what does it mean in practice?
Sweden has joined NATO – but what does it mean in practice?
Are we safer now? What do we commit to, and what can we expect in return? What does Article 5 entail – and what responsibility does Sweden have to defend the country? What can we learn from Ukraine?
On September 22, we meet with Marcus A. Grande, Lieutenant Colonel and Strategic Analyst at the Defense Staff, Headquarters, with experience from Bosnia, Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Iraq.
We talk about Sweden's role in NATO, Articles 3 and 5, and the importance of society for our defense. About what membership requires from Sweden – militarily, politically, and civilly – and how we need to change in a time when the security situation looks completely different than just a few years ago.
How prepared are we, really?
